Deliverance

Ephesians 6:10 – 17 “Putting on the whole armor of God.”

Paul was calling the church at Ephesus to position themselves against the devil and his kingdom.  We will never win any battle against the enemy if we don’t turn to face him. It’s not important what the devil throws at us. What's important is what we do afterward. What we do afterward is what determines the victory and knowing who we are in Christ and how we are living in him.

As Jesus taught the crowds about the kingdom of God one day, He cast a demon out of the man who couldn’t speak. Immediately the demonic spirit left him and the man could speak again, and of course, the people were amazed and started asking Jesus how did he do it.  Jesus said something profound that is the key to spiritual deliverance.

Luke 11:24-26 “When the unclean spirit has gone out of a person, it passes through waterless places seeking rest and finding none it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’  And when it comes, it finds the house swept and put in order.  Then it goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than itself, and they enter and dwell there. And the last state of that person is worse than the first. ”

We do not take deliverance lightly. For that reason, Pastor Derrick most often will not pray a prayer of deliverance over someone who is not born again by the Holy Spirit. We firmly believe that whoever is delivered of a demonic spirit(s) needs the Holy Spirit for the reasons stated in Luke's verses above.

Salvation

Below is a quick understanding of salvation in and through Jesus Christ:

  1. We are all sinners and cannot save ourselves.

  • Romans 3:23 “for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

  • Titus 3:5 “not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.”

  • Hebrews 2:3 “how shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed on to us by them that hurt him.”

  • Ephesians 2:8-9 “for by grace we are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.”

2. We must confess our sins and repent of them, which means to forsake them.

  • 1 John 1:9 “if we confess our sense, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

  • Proverbs 28:13 “he that covers his sin shall not prosper: but whosoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.”

3.  Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation.

  • John 3:16 “for God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believe it’s in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

  • John 3:36 “he who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”

  • John 14:6 “Jesus said unto him, I am the Way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the father, but by me.”

  • 1 Peter 3:18

  • Acts 10-12

  • Romans 10:9-13 “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

  • The Scripture says, “whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.”

  • Romans 10:12-13 says' "For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on him; whosoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

Do you understand and believe everything you have read this far? If so, do not wait a moment longer! Below is a prayer (prayer is simply a conversation with your Heavenly Father) unto salvation.  Remember, this prayer is not a special formula. You are simply expressing your heart to God. Pray this with us!

Prayer of Salvation:

“Father, I know that I have broken your laws and my sins have separated me from you. I am truly sorry, and now I want to turn away from my past sinful life toward you. Please forgive me, and strengthen me, helping me to avoid sinning in again. I believe that your son, Jesus Christ died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead on the third day, ascending to sit at your right hand, He is alive, and hears my prayers. I invite Jesus to become the Savior and Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Please send your Holy Spirit to help me obey You, and to do Your will for the rest of my life. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen!

If you just prayed this prayer, we believe that you have just been born again in and through Jesus Christ. You are supernatural, new creation, your old man is gone and all things have been made new. If you sincerely prayed this prayer, we want to hear from you. Please write us a message and share your life-changing testimony.
